So, I "borrowed" (took while she was at work and I couldn't ask for it) this recipe from my best bud Chelsea and am making it right now for my brother's birthday. It isn't Halloween, but it is October, right?! I will update with how it turns out.

Here is the pic of how my cake turned out. Definitely NOT like the above picture. I am so bummed out about this. I spent all morning on it and when both cakes were cooled and ready to go (after 4 hours) putting them together did not go as planned or how the recipe states. Needless to say my husband tried to help (without asking me) and the cake it tiny. He cut it to make it look like a circle but now there is barely any cake. I cried, tried to frost it, put it on the pretty cake plate, took a picture, realized the top wouldn't fit on the pretty cake plate, and had to move the already (poorly) frosted cake onto a cake carrier. The cake looks worse now than in the below picture. Overall a diaster. Oh well, it's the thought that counts right? Hopefully it tastes good. That's usually how my cakes go. Ugly but taste good. I love to bake and enjoy doing it but nothing I make ever looks nice. :(

aw, I love it. If only i were skilled at baking... it looks great, and i'm sure it tastes fabulous! I totally forgot that you have this blog :0) I love it, it's very pretty. Keep posting!!

Thanks gals for your nice comments. Apparently it tasted good. We had to leave the party early and didn't get any. Disaster struck in the car and the whole caked tipped in the carrier so it looked a lot worse once it actually got to the party. :( He liked it though.
