Well, we had our first big monsoon last night. It was awesome. Rain pouring down in buckets, wind howling and blowing fiercely, booms of thunder and flashes of lightning. We even had a little hail. Then, things got not so fun. The grill got blown off the patio, took a chunk out of the wall, and tipped over in the mud. Our dirt backyard is now a mud river. Imagine how fun this is right now with Chloe. Last night was an adventure. When we were going to bed last night at midnight I couldn't see her. I looked around and then new that she had to be outside. Sure enough, there she was in the mud river. I put down towels in front of the dog door earlier, and when she saw me she came running in. I got her to go to the linoleum. I had about a hundred mud dog prints on the floor. I got her to sit and stay so I could clean the floor real quick with a wet rag, and then I went about cleaning her. Her paws were so full of mud that I couldn't get it all off, so I picked her up and carried her to our bathtub upstairs. She was filthy! The water was mud brown. She was such a good girl about it that after I got her all cleaned and dried I took her downstairs for a biscuit. I gave it to her and then headed upstairs. She always follows us up to bed. About 5 minutes go by and no dog. I feared she was outside and my fears were correct. There she was standing in the mud. So, off we go for the second bath of the evening. She wasn't that bad the second time but still muddy. Grr... so I loved the monsoon and then I really hated it. We still have a river in the backyard. It rained a lot last night and was raining this morning when I left for school. I just got home and what do I find? My floors are covered in mud!!!! Mostly the linoleum thank goodness, but it is still disgusting. I am putting off cleaning it by blogging about it instead! :) I can't blame Chloe though. She has to go outside to the bathroom sometime. And where was the cat during all this?! Who knows! She was gone before the rain last night and wasn't home when I left this morning. She is home now, but she must have gotten pretty wet out there last night. Crazy cat. Here are some pictures of Monsoon Madness. I wish I would have gotten some of Chloe and her paw prints, but at the time I was too concerned about cleaning it up.
