Here are some of our ideas:
Kitchen: We really have a firm grasp on this since we have been talking about the kitchen the most. We are going to do an old world style kitchen. We are going to use earth tones and natural products such as wood, stone, granite. Eventually Jake will make custom dark wood cabinets ( I know I know I am a very luck girl) and we are going to do stone on the backsplash and around the peninsula. We will also do granite counter tops someday. We don't know yet for sure whether we want to do wood floors or stone tile in the kitchen. The whole house is going to be wood and stone. Bye bye filthy dirty carpet! Keep in mind this is going to be a process and some of it will be far into the future. We can't afford granite anytime soon! :)
For paint, the entire downstairs area will be some kind of creamy white/tan, and in the family room (which flows from the kitchen) we are going to do an earthy green accent wall using the first green paint sample from this picture. It didn't turn out so great in the scan but the color is nice.

We are going to use the Merlot/Burgundy paint in this picture to paint the formal living/formal dining. We are going to put up cream colored wainscoting and then paint the top half of the wall. We will probably do some kind of cream Roman shade and drapes. Yeah, I am so excited for Roman shades and drapes!!
Loft: We have had our style idea for the loft for quite sometime. Remember when we went to Hawaii last year? Well, we got this amazing photograph from Peter Lik with the wood frame.
Since then, we new we wanted to to do an island themed room and the loft is the perfect place! Now, we are not talking cheesy coconut cups and plastic lays people. We are going to do wood floors, and we just ordered natural shades for the windows. The room is essentially going to be decorated around our picture. We will paint to bring out the blues and greens. The picture is of a beach in Kuai. I want to go there now! :) Anyway, someday we envision the loft as the fun room. We hope to get a pool table in the next year, and someday a couch and a TV for video games. Right now there is just one papason chair up there. It is the animal run around room for now.
Master Bath: For our bathroom we are going to go very earthy again. Lots of stone, river rock and earthy tones. We want it to look similar to this picture.

We are having a ton of fun deciding this and planning out the look of our house. It may take a while but at least it is all coming together so we can start. We ordered wood blinds for the family room, and the natural shades for the loft. I am excited for them to get here! It will be nice to have it be not so bright all the time! Anyone who knows me knows I prefer it dark.

Master Bedroom: This style choice is a little bit of a surprise even for me. I have always been a green and brown kind of girl. I have loved the color pallet of green, white and Brown ever since Jake and I first met and talked about that. Then, when we were looking at paint samples we saw this beautiful royal blue and both really liked it. We will do one wall this beautiful blue, and the other walls the taupe color that is on the paint sample. We have a HUGE window that we are pretty sure will have a taupe striped Roman shade with blue and cream/taupe drapes.

Guest/Kids Bathroom: We already have a lot of great stuff for this bathroom. In our apartment (Crazy! Did we live in an apartment a little over a year ago?!) and our rental house in Gilbert we decorated our bathroom in a beach theme with the colors lime(ish) green, light blue and white. We are going to use this picture and color ideas to do the kids bathroom.
